Amidst a flurry of activity, Barkov managed to sneak it past Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. Following his crucial third-period goal, Barkov dropped to one knee, expressing rare emotion with an emphatic fist pump before being engulfed in celebration by Tkachuk and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. “I don’t know what to say there,” Barkov remarked. “It doesn’t happen too often. Later in the period, he secured an insurance goal at even strength with 8:54 remaining in regulation, pushing Florida ahead 3-1 and effectively sealing the series. Verhaeghe kicked off the scoring just 45 seconds into the second period, and he later contributed one of the two empty-net goals, with defenseman Niko Mikkola scoring the other. Evan Rodrigues also found the back of the net in the third period. Tampa Bay's lone goal came from Victor Hedman with 6:23 left in the second period. Sergei Bobrovsky stood tall in net, turning away 31 shots. Barkov's offensive prowess was matched by his stellar defensive performance, limiting the Lightning to just seven shots on goal during his nearly 21-and-a-half minutes of ice time.
